Energy Saving Air Conditioning Tips
To keep a high air quality in your home and ensuring that your system is working properly do not forget to change your filter EVERY MONTH!
JEA studies have shown that a dirty air filter alone will cost the average homeowner about $168 a year more on their electric bill.
Check your filter every other week, especially during heavy use months (winter and summer). If the filter looks dirty, change it. At a minimum, change the filter every 30 days.
A dirty filter will restrict the air flow and make the system work harder to keep you warm or cool — using more energy than needed.
A clean and properly sized air filter will also prevent dust and dirt getting into your system and clogging your evaporator coils — which can lead to system failure and/or expensive repairs.
A GOOD WAY TO REMEMBER THAT IT'S TIME TO CHANGE YOUR AIR-FILTER IS TO CHANGE IT WHEN YOU GET YOUR JEA BILL. WE KNOW THAT IF YOU FORGET - THEY WON'T!
Cooling season is around the corner, is your system ready?
Be prepared for the summer, save energy dollars and avoid expensive / unexpected system breakdowns by properly maintaining your air conditioning system.
1. When was the last time your air conditioning system was services?

3. Is your system’s refrigeration level up to the manufacturer’s specifications?
4. Do you have a programmable thermostat? Is it properly calibrated?
5. When was the last time your drain line was cleaned?

Preventive Maintenance
A System, just like a car that needs to get its oil changed every so many miles, required regular maintenance and cleaning to ensure that the system is operating properly and that all components are working properly. Many times, an inexpensive part such as a capacitor, contactor or dirty coils can lead to the malfunction and breakdown of a much more expensive part such as your compressor or blower motor.
It is recommended that preventive maintenance or tune ups are performed two times a year. (One in Spring and one in fall). Our is currently offering a $49.99 tune up special which includes a system cleaning and 21 point inspection of all components. For more information give us a call at (904) 438-4822.
The importance of having your evaporator coils checked and cleaned
Dirty evaporator are responsible for 45% of failed compressors and fan motors. A dirty evaporator coil will restrict air flow and cause the compressor and motors to overheat and burn out.
Studies have shown that the lifespan of a HVAC system is extended by 20% if the evaporator coils are properly cleaned at least every 2 years.
